Just select the free shipping, but put the next day or the day after as the day you want what you ordered. He told us that you will get better pricing ordering off their site and you get free next day shipping. We have an account with Hilti that we set up through the local Hilti guy. I'm gonna check out the metabo next, I appreciate the heads up.

I am in the market for a smaller size (1"), lately I have picked up jobs where I had to deal with lots of brick and concrete, even a $500 investment will pay for itself in a month or so. that is when I took note of Hilti.ĭave_k & dgbldr. Since I am in the market for a rotary hammer I figured I would check em' out.

Between finding stray gift cards and returning anything with a bar code I have about $400 in HD credit to burn. I'm not looking to by Hilti specifically, I spent all yesterday cleaning up my home office and shop. I knew there had to be a catch with the orange box, there almost always is. If you want to buy hilti go to a Hilti dealer, I do a lot of commercial work and use a ton of hilti tools and they all have worked flawless. Hilti from HD is made in mexico!!!! GARBAGE I know I must seem like I am over thinking this but I feel if I'm investing $500 in a tool I want to know I am getting my money's worth. I dropped him an mail to try and find out more. I used to work with a guy who's brother is a HD manager. You hit the nail on the head with the type of product Hilti is, HD tends to cater to the more thrifty spender, I associate Hilti as a high end industrial tool, not something a DIY would bother to invest in (nor should they). I looked at Hilti's website and the part numbers all matched what I saw at HD, no additional characters. A friend told me that he thinks it's a concession, just like Nathan's had, Hilti pays a fee to operate within HD and HD also gets a % of each sale.

In the HD's by me Hilti seems to have it's own little store within the store, with it's own Hilti salesman. They seem to be going in the direction of Sears with their own line of tools (Rigid vs Craftsman), that is why I thought it was really odd to see Hilti. you bring up many points that I have noticed with HD over the past few years. is it the same old Hilti company, or is it a line specifically sold to HD, etc. I'm curious if anyone has info on Hilti at HD. I also thought about a Bosch, I was on the CPO website and looked at a few that would fit my intentions perfectly, I have been very happy with the previous stuff I purchased from CPO Bosch. is the Hilti sold in HD the same as the old Hilti I used to see ? I'm always skeptical of the products sold at HD that have a name brand but are different (Rigid, Square D Home Line, etc.) back in the day when I last worked on a commercial site I did not see a plumber or electrician that did not use Hilti, hence my intrest in purchasing one. I was in the big orange box yesterday checking out the Hilti's. My old Makita chipping hammer from year one has given up life and my milwaukee hammer drill still works well, but was never great at drilling the bigger holes. I'm in the market to purchase a rotary / combo hammer drill. Long time lurker, first time poster here.
